Joshua 18-19

Chapter 18

Before the capital was ever Jerusalem, it was first in Shiloh where the Tabernacle was taken. (v1)  During this time there remains plenty of land yet to be conquered (v2), but Joshua takes the opportunity now before his death to assign the allotments before they are actually conquered demonstrating leadership based on his faith of what God has promised.   The rest of the chapter narrates their mission to spy out the remaining land and divide up the land between the remaining tribes beginning with Benjamin, this diving of land continues into chapter 19.
