Matthew 4

Jesus is going to succeed where others haven’t.  Perhaps the desert fasting of 40 days is symbolic of the 40 years Israel wandered.  Where the ancient Israelites failed, Jesus prevails, not living off mana or bread, but the bread giver.  Jesus overcomes Satan with Scripture each time quoting from Deuteronomy, which was written during the time of their 40 year journey.  Jesus passes a great test before plunging into His ministry leading the way for others to follow. I’m proud of my Lord Jesus, knowing His strength is sufficient where Im sure to fail.  He demonstrated the word of God is indeed meat for our lives, and that it is powerful tool against the kingdom of darkness.  I may not u dear stand everything about His desert trial, but what I do know makes me trust my Jesus all the more, Im ready to serve Him if He is willing to work through me.
